Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program is a professional certification offered by the CFA Institute.

After completing the program and satisfying other professional requirements you are awarded a ‘CFA charter’ and becomes a ‘CFA charterholder’.

If you would like to have a career in finance, invest management, financial analysis of stocks, bonds and their derivative assets; then CFA can be a good option to pursue. Remember, CFA is a professional credential and not an academic degree.

CFA Curriculum:

The CFA curriculum consists of three levels:

Level I: Basic knowledge of investment tools, analysis
Level II: Analysis with application
Level III: Effective portfolio management and wealth planning

You can take one exam level per year. Thus you can complete the three level exams in a span of three years if you clear them in 1^st attempt.

Level I: Multiple choice
Level II: Item set
Level III: Essay questions and Item set

Note: Actual exam weights may vary slightly from year to year.

CFA charter is conferred to those who have satisfied all the following conditions:

Completed the three level exams successfully
Have a graduate degree
Four years of qualified work experience
